Bradford and Calderdale

Bradford district has a population of nearly 500,000 people, of whom around 20% are minority ethnic communities.There are at least 60 different languages spoken in the city and high levels of poverty and mortality.

Bradford district is served by four probation offices, two of which are in Bradford, one in Shipley and one in Keighley.

Calderdale lies on the western border of West Yorkshire. The largest town is Halifax, which accounts for half of the population and is where the local probation office is situated.

The west of Calderdale is generally rural including the upland of the South Pennines and towns of Hebden Bridge and Todmorden. Towns in the east of Calderdale are Brighouse, Elland and Rastrick.
